• Stone Groundwood

  • Mechanical process used to rip fibers from the logs
  • Slurry of pulp formed from the grounded mix.
  • Can be made from either hardwood or softwood.

• Refiner-Mechanical Pulping

  • Wood chips are pumped into rotating disks causing internal friction that generates heat.
  • The heat from the refiner softens lignin.

• Thermo-Mechanical Pulping

• Chemi-Mechanical Pulp
