Cut the end of a straw into a V shape.  Jumbo straws work best.

Practice blowing (with the V end in your mouth) until you can get a buzzing sound.

Cut bits off the straw as you blow and notice the pitch gets higher.  Why? (Think of the difference in pitch between the mew of a kitten and the roar of a lion.)
