This website provides resources for faculty and departments interested in implementing support courses for increasing the success of students in introductory mathematical sciences courses. It is part of a larger University of North Carolina System initiative to help students be more successful in required courses in the Mathematical Sciences.
The content in this site is divided into several categories:
Introduction to Support Courses - gives a description of the goals of support courses and an overview of the different implementations of them.
Strategies and Approaches - Describes specific approaches to support courses.
Implementation Models - Describes specific implementations of support courses at certain institutions. Audience, day-to-day approaches and assessments are some of the information provided about each course.
Resources and Tools - Gives resources for pedagogical approaches and content assistance for support courses.
Research and References - gives references to research on support course effectiveness, best practices in teaching and learning, and other relevant research.
