Position Paper

High Stakes Competency Testing

RE 5710, Seminar

 

This paper should be a three to five pages (word processed, double spaced) that addresses issues related to current trends related to high stakes competency testing and the No Child Left Behind legislation. Focus your writing on how the NCLB both contradicts and supports what you have learned in the Reading Masters Program. You should cite relevant literature, but your paper should be highly personal, explaining how testing mandates have effected your teaching. The paper is worth 10% of your final grade.
