Multimedia & Mind

Hello, and welcome to my website for Multimedia and the Mind. I’m Kay Bishop, a graphic designer, graphic arts instructor, and children’s art teacher. I currently teach through the Graphic Arts & Imaging Technology (GAIT) program at Appalachian State University (ASU). I'm also enrolled in the graduate Master of Arts in Educational Media, New Media Literacies and Global Perspectives program at ASU. I received my BFA in Visual Communication at the University of Texas at Austin, learning how to bring my passion for art to practical purposes. I held my dream job as a graphic designer and art director for a magazine for about 5 years. Then I started a children’s art program 6 years ago for ages prek–12 and was the Blazing Easels program instructor at the Turchin Center for the Visual Arts at ASU for 2 years. I have lived in the south, the midwest, the east coast (US), Asia, and currently reside in the mountains of North Carolina. I am passionate about learning about other cultures and inspiring all ages to be creative through art and design.
