Anxiety & Exercise Research Laboratory

The Anxiety & Exercise Research Laboratory (AERL) is a psychological research laboratory that aims to accomplish two primary objectives:

(1) investigate anxiety and exercise related phenomena, and
(2) train graduate and undergraduate students in the responsible conduct of psychological research.

The AERL is directed by Joshua J. Broman-Fulks, Ph.D. and staffed by graduate and undergraduate students from Appalachian State University. Student research assistants are considered "junior colleagues" and expected to contribute to all aspects of the research generated by the AERL. Students also participate in weekly lab meetings, didactic trainings, and "brainstorming" sessions, and many attend and present research at local, regional, and national conferences. Some dedicated students have even earned co-authorship status on lab generated publications.

Students interested in applying to work in the AERL can apply by visiting the Student Research Opportunities page.
