FL 5530: Teaching Language with Technology
How can teachers make the most of technologies, new and old, in language instruction? This course will help veteran teachers and newcomers to teaching or tech-nology learn about useful technologies. Well develop technology-based activities for use both in and outside of class, by first taking a critical look at the effectiveness of technology in language learning. Well also examine how students use technology, how their interests can be directed toward meaningful language learning with technology, and how new technologies can bring languages and cultures to life in teaching. Specifically, well learn about wikis, social networking, video and audio creation and editing, and online language-learning resources. The focus is on technologies that are free or low-cost and easy to use.
