Hi! I'm Jeff Goodman, and I'm a Senior Lecturer in the Science Education and Media Studies programs in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at Appalachian State University. I got my BA in Biology from Harvard College in 1986 and taught middle school science for 6 years following graduation. I then went to get an MA in Media Production from Appalachian State University, focusing on documentary film and photography. With the exception of one year teaching high school Biology in Yancey County North Carolina, I have taught at ASU since 1993. I bring to my teaching a special interest in the relationship between art and science. My on-going project, entitled Human Wonder Research, combines my interests in physics, neurobiology, philosophy, psychology, media and art. In addition to teaching media and science education courses at ASU, I often facilitate workshops for teachers and artists and present frequently to school groups. I live in Celo, NC, with my wife, my cats, and fourteen chickens.
