Species of Appalachia

This series of five painted rocks features plant and animal species located in the Southern Appalachians. Included are the Catawba rhododendron (Rhododendron catawbiense), the eastern spotted skunk (Spilogale putorius), azaleas, the white-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus), the blue ridge two-lined salamander (Eurycea wilderae), the mountain laurel shrub (Kalmia latifolia), the ruby-throated hummingbird (Archilochus colubris), and the Appalachian tiger swallowtail butterfly (Papilio appalachiensis).
