After the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding in October 2004, the UNC-China Committee in North Carolina and the Fudan UNC Committee were formed in order to determine the areas for potential partnership and seek opportunities for students, faculty and businesses from North Carolina and from Shanghai, People's Republic of China.
